Color as a Design Decision

White cabinets dominated kitchens for a decade, but the palette has widened. Green is the top trending hue: a subtle sage or deep forest green brings a fresh feel into a kitchen, the same tones in a master bathroom create spa-like vibes, and a rich emerald moves into luxury territory. Blue runs from dusty sky to watery aqua to bold peacock and moody midnight, covering everything from soothing to sophisticated. Reading the finish through hardware and counters

Color decisions are half the story; the other half is pairing. Cabinetry fails from the back side more often than the front. Contractors who test before drywall can seal the bypasses while they are visible. Either way, the fix list shortens when every floor-to-ceiling cabinet column is treated as part of the air barrier and the seams behind the boxes are taped and caulked in the same pass.

Storage works when it is planned, colored, and protected.
