Every home has dust, but some homes collect it far faster than others. Dust is a mixture of dead skin cells, indoor and outdoor particulates, pollen, soil, and pet dander, and the rate at which it builds up depends less on how often you clean than on what is in the house and how the house breathes. Some dust arrives from outside through windows and doors. Some of it is generated inside by pets, textiles, and appliances.
